Special Guest Posts by Camera Trap Codger

Camera Trap Codger paid a visit (finally) and created some new "sets" in my backyard and the bordering park. He didn't want me plagiarizing his blog posts, but graciously allowed me link to his blog, as long as I cited him. Here are links to what he posted on his blog, featuring my backyard wildlife. Our refrigerator still stinks of smoked herring. The "Jonah" log had more visitors, which I will post about later. Stay tuned.

New Species!

Camera Trap Codger is visiting. He set up my camera in a new location in a log, and got a picture of this new species.

Hawk Sighting

The hawk was out again this morning. He was high in a tree, sitting for a long time. Then suddenly he swooped down to the ground, made a noise, and apparently caught something. I tried to look in the binoculars but couldn't tell what he got, maybe a frog. Then the crow started calling and the hawk flew off.

Bald Tailed Fox Returns

The mangey fox spent a long time just sitting in our yard scratching himself. Maybe we should try to treat his mange again. I even saw a mangey chipmunk today! Its back above its tail was kind of bald. I wonder if chipmunks get the same kind of mange as foxes. Here is a video of the mangey fox, after he was done scratching himself.

Hawk Checks out Pond

The hawk stayed a long time looking at the pond, possibly because he was hungry for a frog. The frogs emerged earlier this year than last year. There were at least 12 of them.

Knock Kneed Buck Kicks up Dust

Fifteen seconds after this picture, the scene was clear, so that must be dust and not fog.
